Title: HEI coil wires melted
Post by: Savage Larry on May 08, 2021, 07:58:40 PM: I tried to fire up my car the other day and found out that I didn't have spark. I took off the coil cap and found the wires were melted. I've talked to a few guys that have a lot of experience and they have never seen this. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this?

Post by: Wallington on May 08, 2021, 09:30:20 PM: Eeek...did you have anything apart prior, or since previous start. Similar things can happen if you've left a ground cable off or left something disconnected.

Post by: Savage Larry on May 09, 2021, 10:58:23 AM: I've been doing a lot of work on the car, maybe that's what happened. I'm done with wiring now so I'll just put in a new coil and see how that goes.
